Monday: English update on A

Last Friday A went skiing again.  She finished her 4 km. lap almost twice as fast as a week earlier.  She is experiencing slow progress.  Her vision is starting to come back on her right eye as the paralysis of the right side of her face is starting to loose its grip.  She is still struggling with balance (this is a major issue), and walking in snow and ice is a challenge.  the facial paralysis is also affecting her speech pattern and she struggles with certain letters such as S and F (try it -- say words while pretending you are fresh back from the dentist with the novocaine still in effect). 
The left side of her body is still numb.  She is able to move around the house -- we have put in place handle bars for her to hold on to -- and she can make dinner slowly.  Everything moves very slowly for her, which is frustrating for someone as used to speed as she has been.  She tires easily but should relax more. 
Her moods swing -- from being quite optimistic to downright depressed.  She struggles to see her own progress, and this is a major task for us; to remind her of how far she has come and how much progress she is seeing.   
As it is impossible to extrapolate any timetable for her full recovery (which might or might not fully take place), we try to take the days as they come -- one at a time! 
A is very active.  She takes yoga twice every week, she goes to physio-therapy, she sees a visual and occupational therapist every week and she walks the dog daily and goes skiing as often as she can.  I think she is extremely brave (and, I might add, I feel quite brave myself -- mostly because I do the housework plus work of course).
