Today, both of A´s daughters visited her, H first, and then S later in the day. K, A´s sister was there too, as was I for a brief moment picking up S. Our friends H&H were there too. A possible enlarged spleen turned out to be a false alarm. An infection is being treated with intravenous antibiotics. A is working out all day, while I am at home washing clothes, making food and keeping things together. Our hope is to get A home next week.
A is very positive, almost too much so. "I don´t listen to bad news any more," she said today. When being told that she might have to remove the spleen, she said, "plenty of people live spleenless happy lives.". A is sometimes so positive that she can trick even experienced medical professionals to think that she is well when she is not.
